- Fix finger friendly items as often as you can (especially for toddlers). My tried and true go to is using won-ton wrappers. You can usually find them in the Asian food isle at most stores. These work wonders because you can literally stuff what ever you want in them (meat, veggies, fruit, cheese) and then bake at 425 degrees for about 10 minutes and then you have instant happiness at the table.
- Let your children become involved in the food preparation. Most times they will be more excited and interested in giving their creation a try.
- Lastly if your picky eater has siblings don’t be afraid or guilty by using the ole’ “I see you’re not eating your meat. Mind if I give it to your brother Ace?” trick. I don’t know why but this instantly provides motivation for my toddler Kingston to immediately shove everything on his plate into his mouth. (Bwaaa Haaaaa) There’s that devious mom laugh again…
I hope this helps, Happy Mealtime.
