Great Tips for a Stress Free Holiday Season This Year!
Take Care of your Mind, Body & Soul.
Calm yourself for at least 15 minutes of the day(more if you can, but I know how hard that can be). Treat yourself to quality time being alone and present with your innermost thoughts and happiness. If you can’t find the time to actually go to a spa or take a quick weekend vacation then you can do what I do and take time out to truly visualize doing those things or being those places in your mind. Trust me it really works! Put on your favorite cd, light your candles, close everything out and just be at peace for just 15 minutes thinking of nothing but whimsical dreams and happy thoughts.
Identify your priorities and establish boundaries.
Consider what is most important and valuable to you during the holidays and keep those as priority. This will require you to set boundaries around your priorities. Say no to “lesser” priorities, and ask for help when needed. For example, if exercising regularly is a priority, set boundaries around your time to ensure you’re able to get to the gym on a consistent basis. Similarly, if you want to spend quality time with loved ones you don’t see often, then you may have to say no to other responsibilities. This will keep you from feeling like you’re being pulled in all directions. It may also help reduce the risk of feeling resentment or disappointment once the holidays are over.
Don’t focus on all of the things that you don’t have this holiday season or what you can or can’t buy. I know this is very hard to do especially this time of year but it is so important and helpful to constantly write down all of the many things that you are grateful for instead. You will find that you are in a constant state of thanks and joy that you have no room in your heart or day to covet what you don’t have or cannot buy.

The Loft & Learn December Challenge Kickoff!
Okay Everyone the Day has arrived. it’s Time for the December Strong Challenge!!
I hope you all had time to really think about how you could finish off 2015 with the loudest roar possible.
Some of you have written to me about personal goals, some about family goals. I am so glad to hear all of the feedback and wish everyone the best.
I am including the link to the previous post about the December Strong Challenge below in case some of you may have missed it.
As a special bonus I am including below a special treat for everyone. This clip by this young man named Apollos Hester is truly entertaining. Aside from his overwhelming sense of excitement, joy and utter lack or care of how others perceive him he is a man with a message that I believe we all need in order to achieve the difficult. When Colin (hubby) first showed me this clip I laughed hysterically at this interview and perhaps thought him to be a little nuts. But his message was so purposeful and inspiring and his delivery so on point and truthful that I downloaded it on my iPad and listened to it every single day for 4 months as I woke up at 3:35 in the morning to train for my first marathon in the mountains of Idaho. In between songs and during the times when I felt I could not go on or was defeated his interview would pop up in the rotation and it truly encouraged me to move on and finish my fight. I was successful and completed my marathon and I hope that together with Apollos Hester we can help each other conquer your goals as well!

Join the Loft & Learn December Strong Challenge
So the New Year is fast approaching and you are thinking of how to kick-start your new year off with your fantastic resolutions right?
Well how about finishing 2015 with a bang. Yes, they say it’s not how you start but how you finish so let’s end 2015 on the high note that we want to kick 2016 off with.
I Challenge each of you to a “Finish the Year Strong December challenge”!
I know it’s the holiday season and all but if you have any individual or family goals, call them out and all December long let’s help each other stick to it!
That’s right everyone we have 31 glorious days to quit smoking, start eating more vegetables, watch less TV, read more, create something, spend more quality time together, exercise more or whatever you choose. But the key is to just to do it! Set a Monthly goal and stick to it. It could be as simple as saying I will do 10 lunges or 20 squats per day when I wake up, cook with less or no processed foods or I will take at least 15 minutes out of each and every day just for me to relax, be thankful or do nothing at all. You have until November 30 to think of your goal and then we begin together on December 1st.
Whatever the goal, set it and achieve it. When the new year comes roaring in you will ALREADY be at your best and ready for what the New Year has in store. So pass the December Strong Challenge idea along for positive energy. Retweet, instagram, pin it and be in it to win it!
