That goes for you Parents too. Don’t forget that your child mimics what you do. So if you don’t already, you should add a healthy dose of quiet reading enjoyment for yourself. I know it’s tough to find the hours in the day. But if we can find the time to catch up on our favorite shows, call friends and family on the phone or other things, we can schedule time out to pick up a great book. This will do wonders for your child in terms of how they truly view the act of reading. They will see you love it as a great escape and not a chore!
Martin Luther King Jr. – Civil Rights Activist & Minister
With the Dr. King Holiday approaching on Monday the 18th. We think it is especially appropriate to read, study and celebrate his legacy in our household.
Being a family of mixed heritage we hold this day in high esteem because we feel in a way our lives and our sons’ very existence is a living testament of Dr. Kings dream becoming a reality.
As a World community we still have a long road ahead for achieving racial and religious harmony and acceptance but at the core of all I believe there is goodness in each of us and that we shall overcome together and unite as one.
Thank you Dr. King for your vision, dedication, perseverance and sacrifice!
What a great book. You can buy it online or check it out from your local library!
